Comments on: Can you go to jail for not paying your child support?

I have two children with a man that is always in some kind of trouble. This past year he was placed in a court program called drug court to help him clean up his life. Part of the program is that he is required to have a job. Of course he doesn’t have a job. It’s been four years since our court order was finalized and in four years he has made 11 payments. The kicker about the whole thing is he was only ordered to pay 75 bucks a week for two children! I get $75 a week for my oldest son and his dad pays it with no problem so I don’t see why it is so hard for the two younger ones dad to pay his child support. He lives with his mom so he has no bills to speak of. He claims to be broke and have nothing but yet every time I see him he is wearing new clothes (stuff I see in the mall!) and is always getting new tattoos. The reason I get so upset is because I know if it was me that had to the pay the child support and I was $11,577.00 behind I would be in jail! I don’t want him to pay his child support because I want the money. I want him to pay his child support for his children! It is just as much his responsibility as it is mine!

@ Lisa B..the same thing happened to me only I didn’t have a career to fall on. On the contrary that is when I started fighting and finding a career with the federal government. I have been fighting ever since. I recently got married again and had another baby. I always go back to the way I found and chose to marry my first husband. You will be surprised it does not matter what great qualities we have. We we all were born to live out a purpose. If you write down the way you chose your husband and what kind of man he was you may find out how you got here. Of course you are a good mother but your judgement of character like most of us women can be slighted especially when your expertise is in the career field you chose. Because you are part of the system it will be a long while before you may come to peace with somethings. Start focusing on your spirituality and not the pain that you have been caused. Change your focus no matter what is in front of you and then and only then will you have peace. You are not in control of anything but what you choose to do. Think about changing your focus and everything will fall in place.

we all know that there are women out there in the world that only file child support on their baby daddy to catch them or keep them with them…its understandable but come on …if he dont love you …he dont love you …i know people going through this where the man is happily married with a wife and kids and the ex girl has filed child support on him…she said she will take the child support off if he leaves his wife and kids to go with HER ! THATS CRAZY AND REALLY MEST UP ….I DONT AGREE AT ALL WITH CHILD SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!
