Anywho the shorter the loan the better in my opinion. And I think it's because I believe that nothing is certain, and there's a good chance that hard times could come upon any of us. When they do, isn't a blessing knowing that are assets are paid for and cannot be taken from us? My house might be a lot smaller than my neighbors - but if it's paid for and his isn't, who's smarter?
